Why This Event Matters

Majestic Hoops is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and all profits from this event will go directly to humanitarian aid in Palestine.

After more than two years of devastating conflict, a ceasefire agreement took hold in October 2025, but for the people of Gaza, the suffering has not ended. Over 70,000 Palestinians were killed during the war, with hundreds more killed since the ceasefire took effect. The total cost of rebuilding what was destroyed has been estimated at $71.4 billion over the next decade (UNRWA, United Nations).

Today, 77 percent of Gaza's population still faces acute food insecurity, and severe shortages in medical supplies, fuel, and shelter materials persist. Living conditions remain dire, with most people still displaced, health care, water, sanitation, and education services significantly disrupted, and ongoing strikes and insecurity continuing to endanger lives. Restrictions on the entry of generators, engine oil, and spare parts are driving widespread system failures, reducing health and sanitation services and debris removal (J Street + 2).

Four months into 2026, just over 10 percent of the funding required to sustain critical humanitarian operations has been secured. A ceasefire does not mean recovery. Gaza's people need the world's support now more than ever as they face the long and painful work of rebuilding their lives (OCHA OPT)
